A strong Social Services Workforce for a better world
Join us this week - 26-30 October 2020 - in celebrating the 7th annual Social Services Workforce week. The Global Social Services Workforce Alliance (GSSWA) convenes a diverse network of stakeholders from across the globe to promote the knowledge and evidence, resources and tools and political will and action needed to address key social service workforce challenges, especially within low- to middle-income countries. This week, the GSSWA has put together a series of great events to shine a light on the critical work performed by this diverse group of professionals and paraprofessionals. Highlighting the essential roles of the workforce
The Social Services Workforce plays a vital role in the lives of individuals, families and communities. This has never been more evident than it is now, as the world responds to COVID-19. Advocating for the essential nature of this work helps ensure that policies and practices reflect the role the workforce plays, and that adequate support and resources are made available.
A new resource: Supervision guidance
A part of this week's events, the GSSWA's Supervision Interest Group launched a new Guidance Manual on Strengthening Supervision for the Social Service Workforce. The document recognizes the importance of providing quality supervision to quality case work. The Interest Group included more than 60 members from dozens of organizations of all shapes and sizes, who came together to share experiences and compile best practices. The Primero Team was very honored to be able to contribute to this work, which tackles issues such as scarcity of resources, staff wellbeing, professional development, and appropriate technologies to support guiding and tracking effective supervision.
More news to come soon, as Primero/CPIMS+ works with GSSWA to strengthen this partnership and build the digital tools that support good practices and align with these new Supervision guidelines.
